A Message From The Headteacher

Head

We are a Voluntary Aided Church of England Primary school for 3-11 year olds, based in North Yorkshire. We aim to be a highly inclusive school where everyone matters.

We endeavour to live out our vision each day in supporting every child to fulfil their potential. We value every child as a unique child of God supporting all children in their learning with very caring and dedicated staffgovernorsparents and carers.

We have close links with our local church, All Saints Church in Cawood.

I encourage you to browse around our website.  You will find details of school events, visitors and activities that serve to enliven the curriculum, alongside information about our after school clubs and extra curricular activities in which your children can participate.

We are very proud of the children and their achievements, and we have a very dedicated staff team that works hard, alongside governors, parents/carers, the church and the whole community to provide the very highest levels of education.

Please contact the school if you would like to know more about us or would like to look around the school. We are always happy to be of assistance, and we would love to hear from you if you have any comments or questions about our school.

Don’t forget to visit our newsletter section for a comprehensive listing of all of the important term events and I look forward to seeing you in school.

Best Wishes

Nick Payling, Head Teacher

A survey has been formulated to obtain feedback from School Age Immunisation Service (SAIS) users. It is anticipated that the survey responses will offer some helpful perspectives from students, parents & carers, and school staff to ensure the service specification remains fit for purpose to deliver a quality service. In turn, this will enable commissioners to shape SAIS in order to protect our children and young people from vaccine preventable diseases in the future.

We are keen to collate responses from service users, parents & carers, and school staff via Local Authority (Department of Education stakeholders), Schools (including SEND schools), Children and Young People Networks, social media platforms and local comms teams.

The survey will be accessible via the link below and will close on Friday 22nd July 2022.

The Asthma Friendly Schools Initiative sets out a clear, effective partnership between health, education and local authorities for managing CYP with asthma in primary and secondary schools. We have set up a small focus group with representation from each of the CCG footprints across Humber and North Yorkshire to develop a strategy for ensuring schools are well equipped for managing asthma in school.

Please click here for more details and a link to a questionnaire. The questions in the questionnaire are aimed at schools to help us understand better what is already happening within regard to asthma and to help us shape this work going forward.

Our year 6 children are The Guardians of the Garth, and have carefully chosen some beautiful plaques which are engraved (so rubbings can be taken). They have thoughtfully picked locations which are safe and accessible for everyone to stop and have a go at making nature trail rubbings. Here’s their Garth trail.

They have also been busy looking after the Garth especially painting and weeding. Read more on the village website:
